Lex Dunbar

Lex Dunbar (They/Them) is a Norf-Philly native and recent Denver transplant, passionate about education, activism, and community-building. A Black Non-Binary Transmasc person and first-generation academic, Lex combines personal narrative with theoretical research, drawing on Womanism, Black liberation theologies, Transhumanist Deism, and Afro-Futurism. They are currently a Ph.D. student in Denver, where they recently earned their second Master’s degree and became a Certified Death and Grief Doula. Lex is an adjunct professor with experience in non-profits, after-school programs, and universities, focusing on program development and advocacy. Known for their outspoken nature, Lex is driven by a deep commitment to justice and the desire to see wrongs made right. Find them on substack @lexdunbar.substack.com

In addition to our tri-annual anthologies and a literary journal, we publish works online, facilitate writing classes, and offer developmental editing services. To date, we have published 400+ Black storytellers across the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Canada, Asia, and Australia. Our Writing Program has served 600+ students since its inception. We are 100% Black woman-owned.
