.CHISARAOKWU. (she/her) is an Igbo American X-disciplinary poet artist. In 2024, her chapbook, "This Wake Holding, Mmiri" was named a finalist for the Evaristo Prize for African Poetry (formerly the Brunel International African Poetry Prize) and received an honorable mention for the Chad Walsh Chapbook Prize at Beloit Poetry Journal. A Cave Canem Fellow, she's been awarded fellowships from the California Arts Council, MacDowell, Vermont Studio Center, and more. Her writings appear in Hayden’s Ferry Review, Indiana Review, Obsidian, Beloit Poetry Journal, The New England Journal of Medicine, and more. An alum of Stanford University and Duke University School of Medicine, she is currently working on her debut poetry collection.
